Ben Shirindza

FOUNDER

Ben Shirindza is a seasoned mining executive and engineer with over 25 years of experience in South Africa's coal mining industry. His expertise spans underground and opencast mining, mine planning, project management, operational excellence, technical services, and business transformation.

He has held senior leadership positions with leading mining companies, including Anglo Coal, Glencore, Rio Tinto, Sasol Mining, and Universal Coal, serving in roles such as General Manager, Mine Manager, Project Manager, and Mining Engineer.

Ben has successfully led large-scale mining operations, capital projects, production improvement initiatives, and operational turnaround programmes, while maintaining strong health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

He holds a BTech in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, an MBA from GIBS, and a Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency. Through Lowani, Ben provides strategic advisory, project development, operational improvement, and business consulting services that help organisations achieve sustainable growth and operational excellence.
